Once a month, I gain the courage to leave my cozy home up in the mountains and take the long trek into the overcrowded City, where I will spend my hard-earned money on precious flower. When I’m in the City, I’m a different person. I am a woman on a mission. Nothing can get in my way and I know exactly what I’m looking for. I go right to the store. Get my usual ounce, half and half split by the two most interesting-sounding strains the store had available.

The last couple of months have been particularly amazing for me because I found my old connects. After a few raids, they poof disappeared into the abyss. Until a few months ago, that is. Since I’ve found them again, I’ve been a loyal customer. Where else would I be able to buy an ounce for $100? If anyone has any connects, please let me know. Until then, I will venture into the sticky, smelly City to get some weed.
July was an interesting month because when I got there, the store was bare. I almost thought they were raided again, but it turns out they just sold out the entire store. Looks like dropping off the face of the planet didn’t affect them at all—only me. They told me to come back the following Monday and when I did the store didn’t seem more stocked than before?? When I asked for the $100 ounces, I was pointed at a table with two large jars filled with leafy greens. Normally enjoy having to sift through strain names, but I can also get overwhelmed with too many choices.
Two Flower Strains for July 2024 Were Rainbow and White Runtz
So I guess this was a blessing in disguise. While I was disappointed, the lack of options made my choice easier. Even more interesting was that the two strains available were Rainbow Runtz and White Runtz. This month I tried two variations of the Runtz back to back, which helped me compare the two for a solid review.
Rainbow Runtz:
THC: 25% | Effects: Calming, relaxing, euphoria, sleepy |
Strain: Indica-Heavy Hybrid | Good for: Anxiety, stress, depression |
White Runtz:
THC: 18% | Effects: Calming, relaxing, tingling, creative |
Strain: Indica-Heavy Hybrid | Good for: Anxiety, stress, chronic pain |
Upon appearances, how White and Rainbow Runtz earned their names wasn’t a mystery to me. The White Runtz highlighted more pale undertones while the Rainbow had brighter colors. However, the similarities also made it clear that the two were related. They both broke up into similar pieces that needed to be bigger for my preference. The batches also lasted a little less than expected. Flavor-wise though, Rainbow Runtz blew White out of the water and everyone who tried it agreed. Rainbow stuck out in smell and taste.
White & Rainbow Runtz Overview
White Runtz earned a 6 out of 10 nuggets, while the Rainbow Runtz warned a little more, coming in at 7.5 nuggets. The Rainbow Runtz was a little more vibrant and elegant, earning an 8 out of 10 for appearance. While the White Runtz was still beautiful, the pale colors didn’t compare and earned a 7. Aroma wise Rainbow Runtz also won with an additional point, scoring a 7. The smell was evident from the moment I opened the bag and was one of the biggest compliments the flower received.
For the Burn, High Strength, and Quality, the strains tied. Both scored a 5 for quality as I wasn’t a fan of how either strain broke up. It wasn’t super fluffy, but it was fluffy enough to be annoying. Both had a lot of stems, too. Between the fluffy-ish weed, those issues will affect the burn, which the strains scored a 6. Despite those issues, though, the high was still pretty strong, scoring at a 7.
Last but not least was the flavor. The flavor is what separated these two strains. The White Runtz flavoring was subtle, much like its coloring. It earned a 6 out of 10. The Rainbow Runtz, on the other hand, was more potent and sweet. Everyone loved it and it earned an 8.5.
Vape Strain for July 2024 Was Russian Cream by High Leaf
In addition to the flower, I also get a vape to use throughout the day. Say what you want but it’s discrete and helps in a pinch. Luckily I don’t have to leave the mountains completely for the vape pens. A smoke shop about 10 minutes from my house offers a variety of pens and let’s just be real—he spoils the s**t out of us. He lets us buy on credit. He gives us free samples. Plus, he always cuts me a deal on the latest shipment and lets me know about the best pens are on the market.
Little by little he’s gotten new vapes, which are better than the last. The best brand he sells currently is High Leaf. It’s a tiny little vape pen, but it is powerful. The vape holds 8 grams of oil, which lasts me a little over a month and tastes so good. This month I got Russian Cream, and it was so delicious. It reminded me of a Creamsicle, especially pulling on it during those heat wave days. Everyone around me said it smelled like toasted marshmallows or cream.
THC: 26% | Effects: Calming, tingling, aroused, soothing |
Strain: Sativa-heavy Hybrid | Good for: Chronic pain, depression, stress, anxiety, PTSD |
The smoke shop can only sell Hemp and THC derivatives, so the pen is THCA, but it’s super strong! It’s by far one of the best pens I’ve tried so far. The price is amazing too! I purchase the High Leaf 8-gram pens for about $55, sometimes as low as $45 on sale days. The other pens in this price range have less than half the oil percentage. It’s an amazing pen/company. I definitely recommend it and the Russian Cream is the best flavor I’ve had, hands down, so far.
High Leaf claimed it was a Sativa, but upon research, it’s actually a sativa-dominant hybrid. Not that it matters, because it was soo good. It has a high THC level, coming in at 26, which was perfect for me. This strain helped me feel more calm and relaxed, and gave my body a tingling sensation throughout.
Where Can I Purchase Vapes and THCA Flower?

Obviously, I cannot recommend real weed. The laws around MJ are still iffy. Unlike the flower, I don’t run into as many problems recommending hemp products like THCA and THCO. Over the years, I’ve tried many derivatives. I’ll share more of experiences as I share more of my journeys, but for now, some of my favorites are THCA, THCO, and THCP. In fact, most of my vapes are THCA or THCO. Since the Flying Horse vape was THCA and other derivatives, finding similar products to purchase online is a lot easier.
Finding powerful derivatives and reputable companies to purchase from hasn’t been easy, but lucky for you, I’ve done the hard part of researching so you don’t have to. Currently, I’ve partnered with The Hemp Doctor to bring you some of the most potent hemp products at a 10% discount, so you can enjoy some of the benefits I’ve reviewed in this article today by using my link.
While The Hemp Doctor didn’t have the White Runtz or Rainbow Runtz strain specifically, they did have the regular Hybrid Runtz strain THCA flower. Similarly, The Hemp Doctor didn’t have the Russian Cream strain specifically, but they did have the regular Orange Creamsicle strain THCA flower. The website also has a variety of other hemp products including gummies, vapes, drinks, edibles, and more. Be sure to consume safely and positive vibes all around!
Thank you for reading this month’s haul recap! Stay tuned for next week’s post as I’ll be going to the store soon and I’ll share the first new strain I try.
