Hello fellow gardeners! My name is Jaye and I’m a cannamom to a beautiful little girl. Halfway through college, my mental health took a toll. I attended therapy for a few years and was later put on antipsychotics, antidepressants, anti-anxiety medications, and more. The medication made me sluggish and zombified. I hated it, but I was told the medicine was for the best.
On my graduation day, I received the best gift I could ever get. I discovered I was about four weeks pregnant. I stopped all medications and felt wildly better. My emotions (and hormones) still got the best of me occasionally, but I felt the best I had in a long time. That would change during my delivery. Like other moms, I opted for an epidural. It took the medical professional four tries before they passed the needle to their coworker to try.
My partner at the time was mystified by the amount of blood left all over the bed and floor when he reentered the room. I was mystified that I felt no relief. Later the next day, I was scheduled for a section, and once I came out of recovery, I knew something was wrong.
My back hurt and there was a sharp pain I never experienced before. The doctors said the soreness would go away as the needle pokes healed. Long story short, the pain didn’t dissipate. I started a whole new regime of doctor appointments, hoping to find the problem, but the issues they found were minimal. So they started a procedure called radiofrequency ablation (RFA) where they inserted needles Into my spine to burn the nerves.
This procedure happened every 6 to 12 months and was broken into four parts. At any time, I had 8 to 16 needles inserted into my spine. Recovery from these procedures took days, and the pain was often more intense when the nerves would grow back. I was at my wit’s end.
My body was starting to reject medications. I hated that foggy feeling the pills gave, and I spent more time in bed than not. I knew I needed a more holistic and natural approach to managing my concerns.
And so began my cannabis journey. I looked more into THC, CBD, and its various benefits. I learned about the various strains available, the different hemp derivatives, and the unique qualities of each. I also looked into different forms, like topical, oils, edibles, and more. Over the years, I’ve done a lot of experimenting and I quickly learned that not every cannabis product or Regime is a one-size-fits-all.
Qualities from body type and metabolism play an important role. Your concerns, desires, and tolerance can also play a crucial role. However, every woman deserves to have all the information and resources available so they can make informed decisions, which is why we’ve created High Vibes Healthy Lives.
Indulging in cannabis can be fun, but we’re moms and adults. We have an endless to-do list and need to be there for our families, but that doesn’t mean our health has to suffer.
