If you read last week’s post, then you know I’ve got another Sativa strain up my sleeve. So here’s the backstory: I’m driving from the Countryside to the City and I get to the gas station when I see the weed store sent out a message. They’ve got a new shipment of Tier 2 and Tier 5 strains and two instantly stuck out. The first strain being Green Crack since I knew from my vape escapades that it was a Sativa. The second one was Haze.
I once had a bloke tell me that “anything Haze was bomb” and so I’ve made it my personal mission to try anything Haze. To be fair, they were spot on. I’ve only been able to get my hands on Haze vapes (and a wax that I’ll be reviewing shortly), much like the Green Crack, so I had to jump at the opportunity.
The moment I made it into the city and I completed all the errands, I was in front of the weed store in minutes. To be fair, I’m sure I looked like the woman on a mission that I was because I was out of the store and back in the car just as quickly. Containing myself and not smoking before I got home was a chore, but I managed.
Haze Flower Strain Overview
THC: 18% | Effects: Energetic, creative, uplifted |
Strain: Sativa | Good for: depression, anxiety, stress |
Terpenes: Myrcene, Caryophyllene, and Pinene |
To be clear: the Haze was my favorite out of the two. They broke up about the same and I didn’t have issues smoking either one. However, I did find the Haze to be more flavorful, and it felt more like a Sativa for me. While I could still take a nap on the Green Crack, I felt like I got a boost from the Haze.

The Haze nuggets were also beautiful with colors of xxx and xx. They didn’t break into a fine dust like the Mochi or Cherry Gelato. They were a little fluffy and sticky. The only real complaint I have would be the resin buildup that would occur at the tips, making it hard to pull about halfway through.
Haze Is a Sativa Strain
Overall, for me, the benefits of the strain outweighed the annoying resin buildup. I blew through the strain a little quicker than I’d like to admit as it was my favorite strain to smoke during the day while I worked. After doing the research, I better understood why. According to Leafly, Haze is a Sativa strain with about 18% THC.
In addition to the traditional research profiles I’ve been reviewing all along, I’ve decided it was time to start including some terpenes, as well. After several discussions with others in the cannabis industry, I’ve realized terpenes are more important than I thought. Haze did have two of the same terpenes as Northern Lights and Mochi, the Caryophyllene and Myrcene. The strain had a different terpene too though: Pinene.
The Caryophyllene has a spicy or peppery flavor and can also have anti-inflammatory properties. Pinene terpene has a pine scent and is known for its antibacterial, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory properties. Myrcene has an earthy flavor and is known for reducing inflammation and chronic pain, as well as producing indica-like effects.
All these properties together make this strain ideal for treating stress, anxiety, and depression. It also helps stimulate energy, creativity, and feeling uplifted.
Haze Personal Rating

As for the ratings, Appearance, Burn, and High Strength the Haze strain earned a solid 8 out of 10. The nugs were a beautiful green with pale, orange-ish hairs that sparkled in the light. The buds were also fluffy and easily distinguishable against the other strains I had on hand. The burn was smooth, but I did notice a resin build up that was a little annoying. However, I more attributed that to the quality because otherwise flower had an even, slow burn.
The Aroma, Quality, and Flavor all scored a 7.5 out of 10. The Flavor had a hint of citrus and some powerful earthy undertones, which I really enjoyed. The Aroma has a similar sweet, but a little more citrusy. As for the quality, Haze compared to Green Crack was a little better. The buds had less stems, and I didn’t stumble upon any green crack seeds.
Final Conclusion
Overall, I really enjoyed this strain, and I would definitely purchase it again. I hope the store has more because I enjoyed the flavor, smell, effects — everything. Plus, it’s a Sativa and finding Sativa flower at my regular store has been tough so I hit the jackpot on this one!
