I was extra excited to do my usual run to the weed store this month. Payday lined up just in time for my purchase and I was in such a good mood, I considered trying some Tier 3 strains. My plans changed once I got to the store, however.
The store looked fully stocked. From edibles and vapes to over 20 containers of buds, the store had it all. Interestingly, there was an overwhelming number of Runtz options from Tiers 1 and 2 alone, with one in particular standing out: Obama Runtz. It didn’t take much convincing. Once the worker said Obama Runtz was popular, I knew I was sticking with Tier 2.
However, choosing a second strain this time around was difficult. The rest of the options I hadn’t reviewed yet left me with six strains to sift through and even another (Pink) Runtz to try. A big part of me wanted to try the other Runtz strain, but the other part was ready to venture off into new strains entirely.
And so that’s what I did. My partner is a big Joker fan and my daughter is playing on being Harley Quinn for Halloween. Plus, I already spent 20 minutes too long in the store, so I settled on Baby Joker aka Jokerz.

Full disclosure up front, I didn’t enjoy the Baby Joker as much as the Obama Runtz. But that’s not to say it wasn’t delicious! As per my usual, I handed over the two canisters and took a look around at the other products they had. There’s so many options that a part of me wanted to ask for everything in eighths so I could have more strains to review.
But I controlled myself, took some pictures and left the store with my two new strains. Since the worker recommended Obama Runtz, I tried that first and wax impressed. Sadly, that meant I had high standards for the Baby Joker, which they didn’t quite meet. Compared to the Runtz strain, this one was a lighter green.
While the nuggets had a little purpleish undertone, these Baby Joker nuggets didn’t compare to the Obama Runtz. Each deep forest green nugget looked full and had tiny yellowish orange hairs covering it. The trichomes were milky purple, and it looked so pretty under my camera light.

Baby Joker Is a White Runtz & Jet Fuel Gelato Hybrid

Aside from the visuals, they had a nice scent, but the Baby Joker strain wasn’t as strong as the Obama Runtz. These nuggets had a soft flowery scent, with a little hint of citrus and a little “funk.” Of course, they had a similar earthy scent to them as most strains. Flavor wise though, this strain wasn’t as recognizable. On some inhales, I could taste a hint of spiciness and citrus, but it wasn’t overpowering or consistent.
Interestingly, as I do more research and I learn how some of these strains are crossbred, I’m blown away to discover how closely knit these strains are. According to Allbud, Baby Joker (Jokerz), a very high THC value coming at anywhere from 24 to 27%. It’s also an indica-hybrid, created by combining:
- White Runtz (Indica-hybrid with Gelato and Zkittlez)
- Jet Fuel Gelato (50/50 hybrid with Hi-Octane and Jet Fuel)
This is so interesting to me because the High Vibes journey started with a Rainbow and White Runtz purchase. Even more interesting, the Obama Runtz I got along with the Baby Joker is a crossbreed of Platinum Kush, which I tried last month and the Runtz strain.
This strain was great at helping me focus when I was writing articles or doing research. However, if I slowed down enough, or I was in a more vegetative state, I would doze off. They broke up nicely; the joints burned smoothly, and the bag lasted us until our next run. Overall, this strain can help alleviate stress, depression, and pain, while also keeping you feeling relaxed and euphoric.
Baby Joker Personal Rating
Now it’s time for the rating breakdown. Appearance wise, the Baby Joker strain earned a 7 out of 10. The lighter colored nuggets were beautiful, and I loved the way they glistened, but my favorites raised the bar a little too high. The Aroma, Flavor, and High Strength all scored a 7 as well.
When I have a much more powerful strain nearby, it’s hard to be unbiased. However, how else am I supposed to rate strains if not against each other? Since the Obama Runtz overpowered the Baby Joker in this department, they earned a lower score. The Quality and Burn both earned a score of a 6. There weren’t as many stems as other strains and the Baby Joker broke up nicely.
Final conclusion: It was a good strain and got the job done. I would purchase again, but it’s not one of my “favorites.”
