This month I needed to rearrange my schedule, so I went to the store a little sooner than normal to stock up. Of course, the day that I didn’t have much time to shoot the shit was the day the store was fully stocked. If you read my articles for the last haul, then you know that the store I got for my gardening needs has various Tiers.
I thought I was always getting the cheapest Tier: an ounce for $100. Turned out there was a cheaper Tier and this time there was a strain available. Only one though, and it was $70 for the ounce. Since I like to get at least two strains, I decided not to try out the first Tier. The second Tier, though, had lots to choose from. I’m so proud of myself because I even remembered to take a picture to give you an idea.
The setup is really simple, with a few long tables against the wall. The tables were broken into sections which separate the Tiers. They even added the prices to the side to make it easier now. For Tier 2, the pricing was as follows: $20 for a gram, $30 for an eighth, $60 for half an ounce, and $100 for an ounce. Sometimes this Tier is on sale for $80 an ounce.
Firestarter Flower Strain Overview
THC: 21% | Effects: Uplifting, sleepy, happy, euphoria |
Strain: Hybrid | Good for: insomnia, depression or mood swings, chronic pain, cramps/PMS. |
Choosing this time around was tougher with all the options. The owners also let customers open and smell the containers, which can be even more of a distraction. A few of the containers had strains I tried recently, like the (Push) Pops, so I was able to cross those off my list. To narrow my choices this time, I picked based on how interesting the names were, starting with Firestarter. My second choice was the Platinum Kush. Not only is Kush one of the most recognizable strain names, but last month I bought Cali Kush and I can’t help but by similar strains back to back to compare when possible.
Since the Firestarter caught my attention first, that’s the strain I tried as soon as I got home. But I have to admit, I was blown away by how pretty these nuggets were. The Firestarter nugs were almost white. The green was light, almost pale, and the leaves had this white shimmery coating. This strain was paler than the Platinum Kush, which was surprising. I would’ve thought that the Platinum would’ve been more white. But no, the Firestarter looks like a fresh bud covered in gentle snowflakes.

Firestarter Is a White Fire and Casey Jones Hybrid
Firestarter macro
Not only were these bugs pretty to look at, the light aroma was also heaven’s scent. It had a hint of tang, like citrus, to the senses. There was also an earthy undertone, but didn’t smell like a typical weed strain. The way the nuggets broke up was also pleasing, but I did get a lot of keef on my fingertips.
According to Allbud, Firestarter has a high THC percentage, coming in at about 21% This is an indica-dominant hybrid, created by combining:
- White fire (60/40 indica, created with White Rhino and Fire OG)
- Casey Jones (80/20 sativa, created with Oriental Express and East Coast Sour Diesel)
After learning the strains used to create Firestarter, it’s no wonder the nugs are light-toned. Obviously, visually wise Firestarter takes after the White Fire and White Rhino.
I found this strain to give a nice even high and was great to smoke right before a movie. The batch also lasted longer than the last few runs, so I definitely got my bang for my buck. Some of the benefits including happiness, euphoria and sleepiness. This strain is also good for treating insomnia, depression, and symptoms associated with PMS or menstrual cycles.
On a slightly disappointing note, considering how strong the scent was, I thought the flavor would follow in suit. The joints had a soft after taste of lemon, but it wasn’t noticeable off hand. The flavor was stronger than the Platiunum Kush but underwhelming in general.
Firestarter Strain Flower Personal Rating
Overall, this Firestarter strain earned a 7 out if 10 nuggets, so it’s right in line with the average on the site so far. This strain scored the highest for appearances out of all the strains I’ve tried and ranked. I thought these nuggets were beautiful. I rarely see white nuggets, so that alone makes the strain stick out. However, lots of the nugs also had tiny cute preserved leaves that looked fake. The beauty was mystifying, which earned the strain an 8.5.
The quality was a little higher too, coming in at 6. There weren’t as many stems as the last few strains I tried and I liked the way it broke up better. As a result, the Aroma, High strength, and Burn all scored a 7. While the aroma was lovely and stronger than the other strain, it was still underwhelming compared to flower in general. However, since the quality was better, it also burned more evenly. Overall, the high strength was as comparable to the rest I’ve tried in this Tier.
The flavor, though, did come in a little lower at 6.5, which was disappointing. Between how beautiful the nuggets looked and the scent, I definitely expected the taste to be stronger. In the end though, it was a good strain and I would purchase again if it stays in the lower Tiers.
Final conclusion: It was a good strain, but I’ve had better at this Tier. While I would purchase and recommend, it wouldn’t be in the top three choices.

Obviously, I cannot recommend real weed. The laws around MJ are still iffy, but I can recommend hemp products like THCA and Delta 9. Over the years, I’ve tried many derivatives. I’ll share more of experiences as I share more of my journeys, but for now, some of my favorites are THCA, THCO, and THCP. In fact, most of my vapes are THCA or THCO.
Finding powerful derivatives and reputable companies to purchase from hasn’t been easy, but lucky for you, I’ve done the hard part of researching so you don’t have to. Currently, I’ve partnered with The Hemp Doctor to bring you some of the most potent hemp products at a 10% discount, so you can enjoy some benefits I’ve reviewed in this article today by using my link.
Unfortunately, The Hemp Doctor didn’t have the Firestarter strain specifically. However, if you’d like to dabble with the Kush flowers, the site did have the regular OG Kush strain. The website also has a variety of other hemp products including gummies, vapes, drinks, edibles, and more. Be sure to consume safely and positive vibes all around!
Thank you for reading! Have you tried the Firestarter strain before? If so, what do you think? We’d love to hear from you in the comments below!
PS: Stay tuned for next week’s article where I’ll share more about my experience with the Platinum Kush strain.
