On one of my trips to the smoke shop in the Country, I was sidetracked by a new item. Like many other stores, this shop has a variety of products right at the register. The owner always seems to take his time, making sure we’re distracted by the shiny new smoking products. Luckily we adore the owner and he treats us well, so I don’t always feel taken advantage of when something new catches my eye.
What caught my attention this time was the name: Flying Horse. That’s right, the same company that made the 3-in-1 stoner vape that I really enjoyed. Out of all the vapes I’ve tried, Flying Horse is for sure in the top 3. This time around it wasn’t a vape — it was a massive 1200mg garden gummy and it was calling my name. I was so impressed by their vapes; I was holding their name to a new standard.
They were sold individually and were so big (and high strength) I was sure I’d be able to get away with half. The owner sold them for $5 a pop, which wasn’t bad at all. Plus, the owner sweetened the pot with a special deal, ensuring I got one for free for trying them out the first time.
So I sifted through the jar and picked out one flavor of each that I could find: blue dream, birthday cake, jammin’ melon, strawberry, and cotton candy. The owner threw them in the bag, and I was on my home so excited to try these new garden gummy edibles.
I’ve taken edibles before and I’ve learned the hard way how they can interact with your body. Considering I was running around town on an empty stomach crossing off errands, I knew popping the edible then wasn’t a good idea. The new vape would have to hold me over until after dinner.

But you better believe that I devored pasta night in record time and was clawing at the packaging seals moments later. According to the packet, the stoner blend is made with THCA, D8, D9, THCP, and HHC. While HHC is new to me, the rest I was familiar with. I also knew that THCA and THCP were derivatives that I actually felt effects from, so I was confident in the purchase. However, the serving size is ¼ of a gummy. The owner told me to stick with half for the first time and since he has a better idea of my tolerance levels, I followed his advice.
And let me tell you, I’m glad that I did.
Half a gummy was more than enough to make me feel absolutely lovely for hours after I ate them. Later on, when I experimented with the dosages, I learned that a quarter gummy was good for me on the days I would be running around or early mornings. A quarter was enough for me to feel the effects, but not completely paralyze me. Half a gummy was perfect for after dinner once I was done cleaning and ready to relax on the couch for the rest of the evening.
I felt the effects within 45 minutes but as someone who burns over 500 calories a day and has a resting heartbeat of 50bpm; I think it’s safe to say I have a fast metabolism. Also, every time I ate these gummies right after dinner, I noticed they kicked in stronger and faster. I was surprised at how little I felt the effects on an empty stomach.

Let me start by saying that these were one of the best edibles, at least from the store, that I’ve laid my hands on. Over the years, sifting through hemp derivatives and finding what works hasn’t been easy. While vapes and pens were a little easier to find, most Edible left me feeling weird or nothing at all. The fact that one gummy, at different strengths, can give me a lot of pleasure is a major win.
Please note: I strongly recommend starting with the recommended dose. I have spent years indulging in canna and spent even longer getting acquainted with my body. My partner, who has been smoking almost double as long as me, took half this gummy and was FUCKED UP. I have a cast iron stomach and he doesn’t, but please heed my advice. It’s okay to take a quarter gummy and look like a “pussy.” It’ll be better than your friends needing to carry you home and tuck you in. That is all.
I also feel the need to point out that I’m not a gummy person. I have a major issue with texture and don’t like gummy bears, gummy worms, jello, and other similar textures. The exception is garden gummies. But I always prefer the ones with crystals to offset the texture, which these have. Unfortunately, though, the texture and residue are still a bit of a drawback for me. The texture itself isn’t bad, but the gummy left a residue on my teeth.

After eating them, I have the overwhelming feeling to brush my teeth. As a result, the gummies score kind of low, coming in at a 6. There’s also an aftertaste. All garden gummies have an aftertaste though, and some are worse than others. While the aftertaste wasn’t terrible, I still wasn’t a fan. That scored a 6 as well.

The overall flavors I thought were delicious. Misty, who is also reviewing on the site, wasn’t a fan of the flavors though, so I guess it’s all about personal preference. My top favorites are Blue Dream and Strawberry. Overall, the flavors scored an 8 out of 10. The scent was nice. They smelled like regular gummies, with a hint of flower. That scored 7. The high strength and duration both scored 9.
The trick here is to play with the dosages, time of day, and the foods you eat along with it. The duration lasted at least three hours for me. But as I mentioned before, the more food I ate, the stronger and longer the high was. I would eat dinner, take the edible, and smoke one of the new strains I got. By the time the joint wore off, the edibles were kicking. It was a lovely combo. Overall, they were great and scored a total of 8.5 out of 10. Every time I stop at the store, I always buy two and split it over the week.
Final conclusion: I would 100% buy and recommend these. I’ve already purchased several more. They work well at an amazing price point!
