Most people, myself included, would consider me to be a homebody. Not many activities can get me out of the house or bring excitement out of me. However, I do look forward to my once a month trip into the City for some hippie treats. I don’t even mind if I have to go a week early, which was what happened this time around.

As good as the Runtz were from the July Haul, the batch didn’t last as long as others. So I found myself making the trip a little earlier, which was fine by me because that also meant we’d have a fresh batch for our camping trip. So I suppose that annoying platitude is right:
Before I jump into the review of my purchases this month, I feel the need to make a point.
Nothing hits better than a fresh joint in the middle of mother nature. I love going on hikes and lighting up a blunt under a waterfall or by a lake, which is why I made sure I had a full batch in time for camping. Smoking under the stars every night was on another level; it was purely magical. If you haven’t enjoyed the blissful combination of nature and its herbs, then I suggest you find a spot outside soon.
Two Flower Strains for August 2024 Were Cali Kush and (Push) Pops
Cali Kush Macro
Back to the haul, though. This month, like last, my options were limited. While there was a hint of disappointment, that also meant I was in and out of the store with an ounce of fluffy greens in less than ten minutes. This month the two strains available were Cali Kush and (Push) Pops and I sure as hell wasn’t disappointed with the choices.
Cali:
THC: 18% | Effects: Calming, relaxing, tingling |
Strain: Hybrid | Good for: Anxiety, stress, chronic pain |
Pops:
THC: 25% | Effects: euphoric feelings, a tingly sensation, and sleepy |
Strain: Hybrid | Good for: chronic depression, pain, anxiety, cramps, and PTSD |
Push Pops Macro
Upon appearances, these strains looked very similar. The scent and the taste were the major differences between these strains. I wasn’t a fan of how they broke up into fluffy pieces and the batch lasted about as long as the Runtz haul, but the strains were smooth. I enjoyed the way they tasted and the high would relax me for the whole afternoon.
Cali Kush & (Push) Pops Overview
Cali Kush earned a 7 out of 10, while the (Push) Pops strain earned a 6.5. If I didn’t know better, judging off the looks, I would’ve thought the strains were related. They even closely resembled the White Runtz strain. As a result, both strains tied at 7 for Appearances. Although they looked similar, the moment I opened the baggies, I knew they were different just by the scent. The sweet aroma from the Cali Kush filled my nostrils immediately, earning the strain a solid 8. Meanwhile the (Push) Pops scent was more dull, which is why it earned a 7.
The High Strength, Quality, and Burn ratings for the strains were tied. Both scored a 5 for quality as I wasn’t a fan of how either strain broke up. It wasn’t super fluffy, but it was fluffy enough to be annoying. Both had a lot of stems, too. Between the fluffy-ish weed, those issues will affect the burn, which the strains scored a 6. Despite those issues, though, the high was still pretty strong, scoring at a 7.
Then that brings me to the flavor rating. Ultimately, the distinct flavors really separated the two strains. (Push) Pops had a soft milky taste to it. It was subtle, especially compared to Cali Kush, which had a much more powerful citrusy taste. As a result, the (Push) Pops strain earned a 7 and the Cali Kush earned an 8.5.
The Vape Flavor was Flying Horse
Parting with my beloved High Leaf pens was difficult this month, but the option I was presented with was far too tempting. This month I purchased a massive vape by Flying Horse. This Stoner Blend was a 3-in-1 vape, with two primary flavors: Sour Diesel Runtz and Granddaddy Purple. The vape was 9 grams, 4.5 each flavor, and there was a button on the bottom to switch from the flavors or leave it in the middle for a hybrid. The Grandaddy Purple flavor was delicious and powerful. Sadly, the Sour Diesel Runtz wasn’t as memorable. Overall, it was a good vape and scored pretty high on the scale.
Sour Diesel Runtz:
THC: 30% | Effects: body high, along with a sense of calm, euphoria, and uplifting |
Strain: Indica-Heavy Hybrid | Good for: depression or mood swings, chronic pain, chronic stress, or anxiety |
Granddaddy Purple:
THC: 17% | Effects: sleepy, hunger, and relaxing |
Strain: Indica | Good for: chronic pain, appetite loss, stress, muscle spasms, and insomnia |
One drawback I had was, upon research, I learned both strains were an indica, and I prefer sativa vapes, so I was disappointed. Another drawback was that it didn’t last as long as my 8g vapes, despite having a gram more. Theis vape pen was a combination of THC derivatives, which might have made it burn quicker. It was still a great vape, though. It had a good pull, didn’t get clogged often, had me feeling nice and was cheaper than my usual vape.

Unlike the flower, I don’t run into as many problems recommending hemp products like THCA and THCO. Over the years, I’ve tried many derivatives. I’ll share more of experiences as I share more of my journeys, but for now, some of my favorites are THCA, THCO, and THCP. In fact, most of my vapes are THCA or THCO.
Finding powerful derivatives and reputable companies to purchase from hasn’t been easy, but lucky for you, I’ve done the hard part of researching so you don’t have to. Currently, I’ve partnered with The Hemp Doctor to bring you some of the most potent hemp products at a 10% discount, so you can enjoy some of the benefits I’ve reviewed in this article today by using my link.
While The Hemp Doctor didn’t have the Sour Diesel Runtz strain specifically, they did have the regular Hybrid Runtz strain THCA flower. Additionally, the site offers a 1G Rainbow Runtz or Granddaddy Purple vape or a 2G Purple Runtz or Granddaddy Purple vape if you’re looking for something more discreet and portable. The website also has a variety of other hemp products including gummies, vapes, drinks, edibles, and more. Be sure to consume safely and I wish positive vibes all around!
Thank you for reading! Have you tried the Flying Horse blends before? Or have you tried any of the strains listed here? If so, what do you think? We’d love to hear from you in the comments.
