Every summer, we go on a family camping trip. This year was no different. Sometimes we switch it up and try a new location, but this year we went to our familiar spot in Jersey. I’ve always loved being outdoors and sleeping under the stars was just the reset I needed. Plus, smoking in the woods is magical. I don’t know what it is, but touching grass changes humans.

On the second night, I went exploring and found this cozy little haven perfect for smoking. I would sneak off early in the mornings to wake and bake as I watched the pinkish-orange sunrise. The camping trip was perfect. I had two new strains to try out, a brand new vape pen, a little left of the Flying Horse Purple Edition vape, and a few edibles. I was in heaven. The only complaint I had was that the camping trip was too short.
But enough about camping and on to this month’s haul recap.
Two Flower Strains for September 2024 Were Firestarter and Platinum Kush

Unlike the other months, I had a lot more options to choose from. I also got to see the other tiers available since it looked like the store just stocked up. Unfortunately, though, I didn’t have as much time to really shop around and take my time with choices. After a quick look at the options, I made a mental note of the strains I tried and took a few photos of the setup. By the time I was done, I decided on the Firestarter and Platinum Kush strains.
Firestarter:

Upon first appearance, the coloring of the nuggets blew me away. The Firestarter was almost purely white. Many leaves were still preserved and I could see the tiny veins covered in white tychrosomes. Ironically, the Platinum Kush wasn’t as pale. It was lighter in color compared to other strains. However, it had more greens and yellows, while Firestarter strain was a snowy white.

Firestarter won this time around out of the two. The strain earned a 7 out of 10, with the highest rating being for appearance, which earned an 8.5. This strain was beautiful and sparkly—I almost didn’t want to smoke it. The aroma was lovely, earning a 7. However, the flavor was a smidge disappointing, especially considering how pretty they looked and smelled. It did stick out compared to the Platinum Kush though. Overall, I found the quality to be a little better than the other batches of this tier, which is why it scored 6. This also increased the burn score. The high strength was as comparable to the others, earning a solid 7.
Platinum Kush earned a 6.5 out a 10, a little less than its companion. While the nuggets were a glorious yellowish green, they weren’t as pretty or pale as the Firestarter strain. As a result, the strain earned a 7.5 out of 10. The aroma or flavor wasn’t as strong, so both categories earned a half a point less. Overall, the burn, quality, and high strength was as comparable to the other strains Ive tried before.
The Vape Flavor Was Strawberry Shortcake by High Leaf
This month I went back to my favorite vapes, High Leaf. As much as I enjoyed switching between the flavors of the Purple Edition Flying Horse Vape, I missed the intense flavor of High Leaf. Maybe it’s mind over matter, but I think the High Leaf vapes are a little stronger and last longer. Unfortunately, though, it looks like I’ve gone through most of the sativa vapes available at the store near me. There were only three options left that I hadn’t tried, so I settled on Strawberry Shortcake.
In truth, it’s hard to live up to the expectation of the Russian Cream. That flavor was the best by far, so I was a little disappointed when the Strawberry flavor wasn’t as strong. Either way, though, it was great to have my favorite vape back.
