Containing my excitement about this month’s vapes purchase has been incredibly difficult. In my last vape post, I ranted and raved about how much I loved the pen and the company. That hasn’t changed. High Leaf is incredible and the taste of the delicious sativa Russian Cream was the chef’s kiss.
But I might have found my new favorite.
The smoke shop that I get the vapes from is only about ten minutes away from my house. I don’t need to travel to the City and the owner spoils me rotten. He couldn’t have done any better this month. We took a spontaneous trip to the arcade, but my Russian Cream by High Leaf was running low. It was clearly time for a vape run. So we stopped at the store on the way and I went straight for the High Leaf brands.
I was running through the flavors, mentally crossing off the ones I tried when the owner told me to come around and take a look at the new, cool vapes he just got. Well, this new cart was called Flying Horse, and it’s a 3-in-1 vape. The one I got offers Sour Diesel Runtz, which the company claimed is a sativa and Grandaddy Purple, which is categorized as an indica. At the bottom of the vape, there’s a switch. I can choose between either the sativa, indica, or leave it in the middle for a nice, even blended hybrid.
Purple Edition: ‘Stoner Blend’ Vape By Flying Horse Overview
I’ve been totally geeking over this vape. 3 flavors in 1 seems insane to me. The price was reasonable too. The Flying Horse vape was cheaper than the High Leaf and it was 9 grams, 1 gram more than the latter. Normally I prefer straight sativa for my vape since I don’t want to be slowed down while I work. However, I figured I could switch it throughout the day: start with sativa in the morning, switch to the hybrid in the afternoon and taper into the evening with a nice indica. Then from there I could play around with the flavors and results.
The shop had a few flavors to choose from, but purple is my favorite color, so I had to try that one first. Aside from this flavor being purple, it was also of the Runtz strain. Since last month’s haul included two different Runtz, I continued on the same trend. I knew better than to judge this vape at first. The way the oil was divided and the size of the pen was deceiving, but overall, it was a great decision. It lasted long; it was cheaper than my usual vape pens, and it didn’t start to clog until toward the end.
Overall, though, it was a great. It lasted about a week less than my 8g vape, though, which was surprising. However, the Flying Horse blend contains THCA, THCP, and THC8. Meanwhile, the High Leaf vapes are THCA only, so maybe the unique blends burn at different rates. Now let’s dive into the strains.
Sour Diesel Is an Indica-Heavy Hybrid Strain
THC: 30% | Effects: body high, along with a sense of calm, euphoria, and uplifting |
Strain: Indica-Heavy Hybrid | Good for: depression or mood swings, chronic pain, chronic stress, or anxiety |
I also tend to enjoy most sour versions of flower, so this vape seemed like the perfect choice for me. However, the Sour Diesel Runtz flavor was mild, especially compared to its partner, Granddaddy Purple. While I understand that vape oil might not taste the same as flower, I did expect the Runtz flavor to have more resemblance to either the White Runtz or Rainbow Runtz I tried the month before. That wasn’t the case.
The flavor was underwhelming and a little bland, especially as the weeks went by. Overall, the Sour Diesel was just good. The sour flavor was better when blended with the Granddaddy Purple to create the hybrid. On its own, though, it was a soft flavor and not as much a tang as I would’ve thought or preferred.
Interestingly, according to Allbud, Sour [Diesel] Runtz is actually an Indica-hybrid strain made by combining:
- Runtz (50/50% hybrid)
- Sour Diesel (60% Indica)
It’s 30% THC, which is pretty high and is perfect for fibromyalgia relief, mental health issues like depression or mood swings, chronic pain, chronic stress, or anxiety. The effects of this strain are also strong and prompt body high, along with a sense of calm, euphoria, and uplifting.
Granddaddy Purple Is an Indica Strain
THC: 17% | Effects: sleepy, hunger, and relaxing |
Strain: Indica | Good for: chronic pain, appetite loss, stress, muscle spasms, and insomnia |
However, I cannot say the same about the indica flavor. The granddaddy flavor was powerful and the purple (grape) exploded in my mouth with every inhale. Even as the vape wore down, the grape flavor was impressive. The purple flavor was almost as strong as the Russian Cream from last month, and that’s saying something!
According to Leafly, Grandaddy Purple is an indica strain, and a cross of:
- Skunk (65% Indica)
- Mendo Purps (60% sativa)
- Afghanistan (Indica)
It has about 17% THC and is known for helping people sleep, eat, and relax. It also can improve chronic pain, appetite loss, stress, muscle spasms, and insomnia.
Purple Edition: ‘Stoner Blend’ Vape By Flying Horse Personal Rating
Overall, I think I would give this vape a 7 out of 10 nuggets, meaning High Leaf still scores higher. It’s a great vape and I love having more control over the flavor. However, considering that the vape had a gram more but didn’t last as long was disappointing. Also, learning that both strains were actually indica was a little disappointing too. Overall, though, it was worth the price, got the job done, and tasted good! I would definitely check out the other versions down the road, as this was a great addition to this month haul, which included the (Push) Pops hybrid and Cali Kush Hybrid strains.

Unlike the flower, I don’t run into as many problems recommending hemp products like THCA and THCO. Over the years, I’ve tried many derivatives. I’ll share more of experiences as I share more of my journeys, but for now, some of my favorites are THCA, THCO, and THCP. In fact, most of my vapes are THCA or THCO. Since the Flying Horse vape was THCA and other derivatives, finding similar products to purchase online is a lot easier.
Finding powerful derivatives and reputable companies to purchase from hasn’t been easy, but lucky for you, I’ve done the hard part of researching so you don’t have to. Currently, I’ve partnered with The Hemp Doctor to bring you some of the most potent hemp products at a 10% discount, so you can enjoy some of the benefits I’ve reviewed in this article today by using my link.
While The Hemp Doctor didn’t have the Sour Diesel Runtz strain specifically, they did have the regular Hybrid Runtz strain THCA flower. Additionally, the site offers a 1G Rainbow Runtz or Granddaddy Purple vape or a 2G Purple Runtz or Granddaddy Purple vape if you’re looking for something more discreet and portable. The website also has a variety of other hemp products including gummies, vapes, drinks, edibles, and more. Be sure to consume safely and I wish positive vibes all around!
Thank you for reading! Have you tried the Flying Horse blends before? Or have you tried High Leaf vapes? If so, what do you think? We’d love to hear from you in the comments.
